Cara Technology sells everything you need to set up, develop and deploy professional taste panels.
In 1989, our managing director, Dr Bill Simpson invented the world’s first stabilised flavour standards while at the Brewing Research Foundation in the UK.
Today, these are used in food and beverage sites in more than 170 countries to train tasters on individual and pure sensory compounds.
Our products and services have been used for more than 20 years in close to 2,000 production sites.
In addition to our extensive range of flavour standards, more than 25,000 professionals tasters have been selected, screened, trained and validated with our Certified flavour standards and sensory software.

The world of food and beverage has changed vastly since we started in 1995.
There is a much wider variety of flavour found in craft beers, sodas and many other products, and therefore there are more flavours that your panel should be trained on regularly.
Therefore, we have developed and introduced a wider range of flavours that are now commonly found in the market.
Our history
Seeing the commercial potential in his invention Bill resigned from his job leading a team of 16 researchers to bring the idea to life and make it available to beverage manufacturers. He founded Cara Technology Limited in 1995 with the aim of building on the work he had done at the Brewing Research Foundation.
Cara Technology, manufacturer of AROXA flavour standards, was formed in 1995. We have been helping leading food and beverage companies on how to train, test and assess other taste panels for nearly 25 years.
